Ask some questions, ( frequently ) and we
will put them here.... with answers...

The wood looks so precisely
cut.. how do you do that? Much
of the wood on the lot is now 'machine cut'. The tree is actually
sliced and diced by hydraulic blades and I just stand by and watch.
It's a lot more fun than it used to be. We will put a link on the
home page soon with all the info.
10/05/02 We are new
to the area and just found your company ... don't you advertise? Most
people found us by "drive by" or "referral". This web
site is new in June, 2001 and now attracts dozens of hits each day.
It has attracted several dozen new customers already. Its' original
purpose was to provide information for our customers.
In the fall of 1999, we had 3 "realtor size" signs in the
neighborhoods. This year we may place a small ad in a neighborhood
newspaper and put 2 signs. Although we have increased our supply, we will
most likely be out of product by mid-January 2004.
10/12/04 Tell me
about delivery.. Wood is delivered from the back of the truck
and is not 'toted' to other storage areas. It may be dumped or stacked, as
required.
Minimum delivery charge is $20 to load and unload plus $0.75 per
mile from our lot to your location. We usually don't deliver much beyond
25 miles, but exceptions can be made.
How about a reduced
rate? We do offer reduced rates for needy families who are
dependant on wood for heat. These families are often referred by our
customers and are evaluated on an individual basis. Last year (02) we had
5 families who were pleased with somewhat irregular wood for little or
nothing. Most of them were in eastern Cheatham Co. and several picked up
the wood... the others, unloaded it when we delivered. Also, for
longtime customers, rates have gone up slower.
How many rick may we
order at a time? ... Most people order 1 or 2 rick and up to 10
rick per season if used for primary heating. Many get it delivered early
and let it cure in their stack. Others buy at the last minute and can
experience delivery delays. If the weather is too bad for you to drive,
then we may not deliver either. If the roads are wet and slick, we are not
out. About 65 percent pick up at the lot and we have had six in line
at a time. Pickup at our lot is "by appointment only" so that we
may deliver on schedule.
